Weekend Fun

This last weekend was one of our last 4 weekends living in the Cote d’Azur. So we decided to have a little fun.

Friday I was waiting to pick up a prescription, it was ready around dinner time.  So we went into Fontvielle to pick it up.  We decided we should stay for dinner, and went to have some sushi at Dark Home.  Walked in around 7pm, and couldn’t find a single person working there. I even shouted to the back to see if I could get someones attention.  Nothing….so we left!

Walked past a gorgeous new restaurant called “One Apple” and decided to check it out. It turned out to be a delightful evening. When we arrived the kitchen hadn’t opened yet, which was fine with us we enjoyed a nice bottle of Brunello while we waited and chatted with the manager. Around 8pm we placed our order….we decided to share a pasta and meat dish. We took the tortellini with white meat sauce and the entrecote filet with dijon sauce and artichokes.    photo 2 BrunelleOne Apple ENtrecote Pasta with Meat SauceDessert at One Apple

Both were excellent!  We then shared a dessert, and was offered a complimentary glass of wine each.  By the end of the evening we didn’t feel like waiting for the bus, or walking so we asked about the shuttle which we had heard about.  It was available and the nicest man drove us home.  Overall an excellent experience, and a restaurant that I would definitely recommend!

Saturday we had planned on visiting a witch village in Italy with a group of friends.  It was our friend Portia and her sister whom we had never met….and Portias friends Hannah and John were writing an article for a car mag so they had been given a Ferrari to drive around and they joined us as well.  It was a great adventure.  We drove up the winding roads to the village of Triora, Italy. It was picturesque and we walked down the windy streets and discovered the beautiful mountain views. Around 1pm we decided to make our way to lunch at the “Mushroom restaurant” called Ca Mea.  You can’t miss the place!

Ca MeaWe enjoyed 6 courses of mushroom food….lamb entree and tirimasu dessert along with unlimited wine. Everything was delicious, and each dish very different from the next.  Quite the experience that I would recommend to anyone traveling around Liguria!

We ended the weekend with a Sunday BBQ at a friends place in Monaco.  Another wonderful and relaxing afternoon. We were lucky to have a bit of sun to enjoy on their roof top terrace!

Overall an excellent weekend, which makes us sad to leave.  T-minus 17 days until we fly back to Miami.  It’s starting to go FAST!!!
